Takeyat al Hosh al Kabeer: Meals of Hope
Since August 9th, AL HOSH Alkabeer Sennar (AACOS) has been distributing free meals in residential areas where finding food is difficult. The president and project manager met with team members on-site to plan according to the needs of each area. The appeal for donations has received strong support from various sectors of the community. So far, about five million SD pounds (approximately 2,800 US dollars) have been raised.
The meals typically consist of beans, lentils, vegetables, and rice. Ten residential areas have benefited from this program so far, with many more on the waiting list. The communities are very grateful for this initiative. The local team is doing an excellent job despite heavy rains that have made some areas hard to reach. We hope to receive more donations to meet the food needs of the entire Sennar district.
