This project is considered one of the largest charitable projects that the organization seeks to implement and its importance is highlighted by the growing need for free eye care services among the vulnerable segments and the weakness and scarcity of outlets that provide this type of service, as there is now only one eye centre at Sennar hospital that lacks the technical and human capabilities to accommodate the needs of more than a million citizens in Sennar and surrounding areas, and the scarcity and limited services often leads to the loss of sight, and this is what prompted the al hosh al kabeer organization to invest and build this centre to maintain the gift of sight for the vulnerable segment and take care of it in addition to upgrading and developing the service to support The country’s health system.
The family of the late Ahmed Al-Obaid Saleh represented by Mrs. Kawther Ahmed Al-Obaid and Mrs. Zahoor Ahmed Al-Obaid donated 580 sq. meter land on which the centre will be built in memory of their father Ahmed Al-Obaid Saleh and mother Arafa Obeid.
Our mission is to provide the necessary financing related to construction costs through a large campaign to attract and collect contributions from the members of the organization, the people of Sennar, philanthropists inside and outside Sudan, international organizations and official and unofficial bodies. The cost is estimated at 950,000 dollars.
Vienna eye care organization VECP an international organization based in Austria and is associated with Al Hosh alkabeer organization through a partnership agreement signed in 2018 will provide assistance and support to the ophthalmology Centre project by helping to mobilize external support, as well as provide the necessary equipment and contribute in the field of training, and exchange of experiences and visits.
All Sennar and its surroundings are looking forward to the completion of this project and the benefits it will bring to the state.
Hoping that by end of 2023 the official launch will take place.
