2013 honouring the pioneers of education in Sennar
This year marked the birth of the organization. First was a festival honoring 70 teachers who were the leaders of educational movement in Sennar city. It was a big festival that was televised on two local TV
Noor al-Islam school is more than eighty years old .The roof of the school was raised by more than a meter, the old buildings were strengthened. A new playground was constructed for the school by removing some classrooms , with a full concrete wall and a theater. Two teachers ‘ offices and a sports field were also constructed .Electricity and water networks were upgraded. Thanks to all who contributed to this big project
Reconstruction of three classrooms and an office where the roof was ripped during the rainy season, tiling and refurbishment of the school yards.
Construction and rehabilitation of all classrooms and teachers ‘ offices.
Establishment of umbrellas (shades) and gardens.
Rehabilitation of electricity and water networks.
Construction of a new fence and a modern gate.
Providing the school with water coolers with filtering and purifying water system
Repainting all school buildings.
Complete restoration and rehabilitation of classrooms and teachers ‘ offices
Raising the level of the surface of the school yards by about 90 cm
Construction of a theater and canopies.
Tiling and construction of gardens in the school yards .. Rehabilitating toilets, electricity and water network and providing the school with water coolers .
The reconstruction of the external wall of the school and the establishment of a modern entrance gate.
The buildings of this school are about a hundred years old .. After inspecting the buildings by the Engineering Office of the organization, a decision was made to remove the old buildings because of their disrepair and the severe decrease in the ground level and reconstruct them
The project includes (construction of 9 classrooms, a teacher’s office, a male teacher’s office, a female teachers office and an office for the principal, backfill work to raise the ground level by one and a half meters, construction of bollards along the buildings, tiling and planting a garden, construction of a school theater, a sports stadium, a prayer room, construction of umbrellas(shades) in the squares, construction of a full fence, provision of water coolers and the removal of the old buildings, and fixing the lighting and water system)
Through the director of the External Relations Office of the organization in western Europe and America, Mr Hassan kanouri, alhosh al kabeer organization was able to conclude a memorandum of understanding with Vienna EYE CARE , based in Austria, and the Ministry of Health in the state of Sennar, to cooperate in the fields of setting up therapeutic camps and training for a period of five years. Missions where accomplished successfully where possible.
First mission: October 2017
This was a Fact Finding Mission in order to evaluate the possibility for development of an eye surgery center in Sennar City, Sudan. The findings resulted in a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation during the next 5 years.
Second mission: January 2019
Due to political unrest and incomplete facilities to perform eye surgery, an alternative program was accomplished, providing glasses for 300 poor people, delivering medical drugs, treating general health problems, and giving lectures to students.
Third mission: February 2020
Apart from continuing the development of eye surgery (71 cataract operations) and providing glasses (300), first steps are done to establish a Sudanese Austrian Eye Care Center in Sennar City.
An important meeting has taken place in Vienna Austria (9th and 10th December) between AlHosh alkabber charity organization AACOS, Vienna eye care partners VECP, Syntax architecktur and Selma El Obeid and Dr Marc Lejars representative of Ahmed El Obeid family who donated the land.
The first meeting of the board of Directors of the organization with the board of trustees was held on Saturday7th January. Where the latter was represented by Dr Babiker Ahmed Al-Obaid, Taha Hamid Humaida, Emad Hassan, Adel Ahmed Al-Madani, Dr. Adel Mukhtar and Asim Ahmed Taha.

Alhosh al Kabeer was very proud of its great achievement of officially launching on 11th march al Fateh water project in remembrance of the late Abdulrahman Homaida. A unanimous doner funded the project with cost of 20 million Sudanese pounds. It was implemented and supervised by AACOS. The whole village was so excited as fetching water from the neighbouring village was a tedious journey. It was attended by top officials of Sennar state, the residents of alfateh village, invited guests and AACOS members.
The prez and project manger of AACOS in their speech both expressed their sincere appreciation to all who generously helped to make this event come together and to become a success.
