Thank you for your generous donation Elisabeth
Elisabeth Micka, a sociologist and free visual artist, has
been living in Lower Austria for 10 years. She completed her training in the Netherlands and worked as a director of a psychiatric hospital. Micka initiated and directed art projects with psychiatric patients and children in Bangladesh. Her abstract paintings, mostly acrylic and oil, are colorful and expressive, reflecting her life between cultures and journeys. Micka is a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists of Austria, the Künstlerbund Klosterneuburg, and NO Kulturvernetzung.
Elisabeth began a project to exhibit interconnecting art works at the Vienna International Centre three years ago, inspired by her experiences in various countries. She aimed to understand and appreciate different cultures and mentalities through missions in Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Sudan. However, three years later, the situation has changed drastically, leading to the destruction of peaceful living and increasing violence. Her recent works are statements in red, urging people to live peacefully together and resist nonviolent resistance. For the moment, we should help where we have the opportunity to do so. I myself would like to help women and children in Sennar City, Sudan, who fled from the war by donating one third of the revenues of my paintings. I would be very grateful for your support.
